Like all California public schools, Urban Montessori is supported by your financial support and enthusiasm. Recently our school has had two annual community fundraisers: the fall Readathon and the spring Walkathon. 1. Attendance

• Send your child/children to school every day! State funding for California public schools is largely driven by “Average Daily Attendance,” or ADA. Each 1% increase in our attendance creates ~$40,000 in additional revenue for our school. Beyond the academic and social benefits, strong student attendance makes a positive impact on our school’s budget.

2. Participate in the Fall Readathon and the Spring MOVEathon

• The Readathon is a great way to invest in our changemakers. Every family is encouraged to support their child to read, Read, READ! The MOVEathon is a great way to get out and enjoy moving outside. For each, students can collect online contributions and pledges from their family, friends, and neighbors, and cash can be donated in the Main Office. Our goal is 100% student participation and fun. Every donation counts, from $1, to $100, to $1,000, or more!

3. Corporate Match

• Urban Montessori is supported by the generosity of our many families and community supporters. An easy way to grow your impact is through employee giving programs. Many employers match employee donations to UMCS. Thank you for checking to see if your employer will match your contribution!

5. Create something new!

• It's always the right time to create a new opportunity to help raise funds for our school. Have a great idea?? We want to hear it! See #8 below! 😉

6. Frequent these local businesses

• Businesses that participate in our Local Business Support Program dedicate a small percentage of their sales or revenue to support the school. Some may dedicate a day of the month and give a percentage of revenue from that day. Others may choose to contribute a percentage from special promotions. Support UMCS by supporting local businesses. 7. Online Shopping

• TruEarth's effective eco-friendly laundry detergent is also ZERO WASTE. Shoppers support UMCS by purchasing TruEarth products through our dedicated sales link (please click here to go to the page) and the school will receive 20% of sales.

8. Join the Fundraising Team

• We are parent volunteers focused on raising money for UMCS and having fun while doing so. From spending a few hours on a project to leading an event, all help is welcome. There are plenty of ways to volunteer outside of school hours too. Find the Fundraising Team on ParentSquare or come to our next meeting—all are welcome!
